What SteriDesk is, who built it, and the rules we hold ourselves to — laid out plainly, one section at a time.
SteriDesk is an independent study resource for people sitting the HSPA CRCST exam — the Certified Registered Central Service Technician credential for sterile-processing and central-service work. That is the whole remit. We are not a school, not a training provider, and not the body that issues the certification; we build the study tools you use on the way to the exam, and nothing here confers the credential itself.
The site is put together for one kind of reader: a tech who already knows they are taking CRCST and wants to practise the way the exam actually asks, not wade through a brochure. Who this is for
Everything on SteriDesk is aimed at the same job: getting a working or aspiring sterile-processing technician ready to sit CRCST. The material is split into blocks you can take one at a time — a practice test to feel the questions, a study guide ordered by the exam's real domain weights, and plain answers to the questions people ask before exam day. No filler, no motivational padding — the aim is that you finish, not that you feel busy.
How we build it
Why an interactive practice test, not a PDF
Most free CRCST prep is a static dump: a scanned PDF, a locked flashcard set, a list of answers with no reasoning. You can read those all day and still not know how a question will be framed. We built the opposite on purpose.
- You drill, then you see why. Every question carries a rationale, so a wrong answer teaches you the rule instead of just marking you down.
- Coverage follows the blueprint. The practice mirrors the seven HSPA content domains and their real weights, so you spend time where the marks are.

This is health-adjacent, career-affecting material, so we hold a hard line on what we will and will not state. The seven content domains and their weightings come straight from our own CRCST question bank and are published openly. The volatile specifics — the exam fee, the exact question count, required experience, test windows, recertification — are set by HSPA and change over time, so we do not print them. A stale number on a study site is worse than no number at all; for those, we send you to the source.
